Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1st November 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how NYSC Empowerment ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit [Your Blog URL]. This blog shares guidance, tips, and resources for Nigerian youth corpers and graduates preparing for or completing the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). By using this blog, you agree to the practices described here. If you disagree with any part, please stop using the site.

1. Who We Are, and Who We Are Not

This blog is written and managed by Jack Lookman (Olayinka Carew) and Kifayat Carew. Some content, products, and services are connected to Jack Lookman Ltd.

We are an independent blog. We are not the National Youth Service Corps, we are not part of NYSC or the Federal Government, and we do not speak for them. We cannot process NYSC registration, postings, redeployment, clearance, or allowances. For official matters, please use NYSC's official channels and portal.

You can reach us at olayinkacarew@gmail.com  with any privacy questions.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly:

  • Your name, email address, and message when you use our contact form or email us.
  • Your name, email address, and any details you provide if you subscribe to a newsletter or mailing list, or sign up for a course, ebook, event, mentoring, or coaching service.
  • Comments you post on the blog, including any name, email, or website you enter.

Information collected automatically:

  • Technical details such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages visited, time spent on pages, and the site you came from.
  • Information gathered through cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).

3. Information. Please Do Not Send Us

Because many of our readers are serving or preparing to serve, we ask you not to send or post the following, by email, form, or comment:

  • Your NYSC call-up number, state code, or registration details.
  • Your passwords or login details for the NYSC portal, email, bank, or any other account.
  • Copies of your certificates, ID, call-up letter, or other official documents.
  • Bank details, card numbers, or BVN/NIN.
  • Sensitive information about your health, religion, or personal life.

We will never ask you for your NYSC portal password. If someone claiming to be us asks for it, do not share it, and please tell us.

4. How We Use Your Information

We may use your information to:

  • Reply to your messages and enquiries.
  • Send emails, updates, or offers you have asked for. You can opt out at any time.
  • Deliver any courses, ebooks, mentoring, coaching, or other services you sign up for.
  • Understand which posts are useful so we can improve the blog.
  • Keep the site secure and prevent spam or misuse.
  • Meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Blogger, Google, and Third-Party Services

This blog is hosted on Blogger, a service provided by Google. Blogger and other Google services may collect technical data and use cookies. You can read how Google handles information at policies.google.com/privacy.

Depending on how the blog is set up, we may also use:

  • Analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the site.
  • Google Forms or similar tools to receive contact messages and sign-ups.
  • Email service providers to send newsletters.
  • Advertising or affiliate networks.
  • Social media buttons and embedded content, such as YouTube videos.

These third parties have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your data. [Edit this list so it matches only the services you actually use.]

6. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. They help websites remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. We and our third-party providers may use cookies for analytics, security, and advertising or affiliate tracking.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work. Visitors from certain regions may see a cookie notice from Blogger, which you can use to manage your choices.

7. Affiliate Links, Products, and Advertising

Some posts may include affiliate links, for example to online courses, books, or tools. If you click a link and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate partners may use cookies to track referrals. We will aim to disclose affiliate links clearly.

We also mention our own products and services, such as ebooks, courses, mentoring, and coaching. Mentioning a product is never a promise of a job, income, visa, scholarship, or any other result.

8. Comments and Public Content

Comments you post on the blog may be visible to other visitors. Please do not share private or sensitive information in comments. We may remove comments that are abusive, misleading, or spam, or that try to sell fake NYSC services.

9. How We Share Information

We may share your information only:

  • With service providers who help us run the blog, send emails, or deliver services, and who are expected to protect your data.
  • When required by law, regulation, or legal process.
  • To protect our rights, safety, or property, or those of others.
  • With your consent.

10. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as the law requires. Messages and subscriber details are kept until you ask us to delete them or unsubscribe, unless we need to keep a record for legal or administrative reasons.

11. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. However, no website or electronic storage method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use strong passwords and be careful on public Wi-Fi, especially when using NYSC and banking portals.

12. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, including under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, for visitors from the UK or EU, data protection laws such as the GDPR, you may have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct or update it.
  • Ask us to delete it.
  • Object to or restrict certain uses of it.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time.

To make a request, email us at [your email address]. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it.

13. Children's Privacy

This blog is intended for graduates and young adults. It is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires), and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

14. External Links and Official Information

The blog may link to other websites, including official NYSC pages and partner sites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their policies before sharing information. NYSC rules, dates, allowances, and procedures can change, so always confirm important details on NYSC's official channels.

15. International Visitors

Our services and those of our providers may process data in countries other than your own. By using the blog, you understand that your information may be transferred and handled outside your country.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. Please check this page occasionally for changes.
